ISTANBUL (AA) - Alaaddin Dincer, the chairman of the Teacher's Trade Union (Egitim-Sen) said on Thursday that they would apply to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) regarding the union's closure case.
Speaking in a news conference, Dincer said that they would ask the ECHR to take precautionary measure/decision in the closure case against Egitim-Sen so that the trial process in Turkey could stop until a decision was given by ECHR.
Dincer asserted that the decision given by Supreme Court of Appeals suggesting the closure of the trade union was against Article 10 (freedom of expression) and Article 11 (freedom of assembly and association) of the European Convention on Human Rights.
