BEIJING (AA) - All countries should cooperate in fight against terrorism, Turkish Gendarmerie Forces Commander Gen. Fevzi Turkeri said on Thursday.
Gen. Turkeri arrived in Beijing, the People's Republic of China, upon invitation of the Chinese Armed Police Forces Command.
Speaking to reporters at the airport, Gen. Turkeri said, ''there have been good relations between Turkish gendarmerie forces and Chinese armed police forces since 1999.''
''On numerous occasions, Turkey highlighted importance of international cooperation in fight against global crimes such as organized crimes, illicit drug trafficking and terrorism,'' he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Chinese Armed Police Forces Deputy Chairman Gen. Vang Cienping said that they admired disciplinary and modern mentality of the Turkish army.
Gen. Turkeri is scheduled to meet Chinese National Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan on Friday. He is expected to return to Turkey on June 7th after visiting Shanghai.
