BURSA (AA) - Exports by the Turkish automotive sector in the first five months of 2005 increased 43.9 percent to 5.5 billion USD, sources told the A.A on Wednesday.
Exports of automobiles rose to 1.8 billion USD in the same period.
In the same period last year, exports by the Turkish automotive sector were about 3.8 billion USD.
Meanwhile, exports climbed 35 percent from 865.3 million USD to 1.1 billion USD in May.
The sector exported goods to 162 countries and 13 free zones.
Germany which was on the top of the list of those countries with exports of 810.5 million USD, was followed by Italy, France, Britain, Spain and the Netherlands.
