ANKARA (AA) - Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz of Pakistan said on Wednesday that Pakistan was determined to extend all kinds of support for lifting of isolation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan and Prime Minister Aziz of Pakistan held a joint news conference following their tete-a-tete meeting in Ankara.
Expressing Pakistan`s appreciation with the attitude of the Turkish side in efforts to find a lasting and fair solution to the Cyprus issue, Prime Minister Aziz said that they were ready to support initiatives to lift long-standing isolation of the TRNC.
Aziz said that removal of isolation would contribute to development of peace and harmony in the region.
Recalling that Turkey and Pakistan had been cooperating with each other in many international organizations, Aziz said that they recently concentrated on efforts to make the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) more influential.
Describing the Islam as the faith of tranquillity and peace, Aziz stressed that the fact should be told to the whole world.
Aziz said that his visit would help efforts to improve the bilateral relations between the two countries.
We aim to increase our trade volume with Turkey up to 1 billion USD, he told reporters.
Prime Minister Aziz called on Turkish businessmen to increase their investments in Pakistan.
