LEFKOSA (AA) - President Mehmet Ali Talat of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said, ''attitude of Greek Cypriot side is far away from parameters of Annan Plan. It is uncertain how Cyprus issue will be solved.''
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Talat said, ''our aim is to start solution talks rapidly.''
Shortly after start of solution talks, debates began on whether or not Guzelyurt would be given, Talat said and noted, ''however, people living there voted 'yes' in referendum, giving the message that they are ready to bear this burden. As desired results could not be reached, steps should be taken to satisfy people,'' he added.
''TRNC fulfilled its responsibilities for opening of Bostanci border gate, but it was delayed because Greek Cypriot side did not fulfill its responsibilities. We should find a solution to Cyprus issue before discussing new border gates and we are trying to do so,'' noted Talat.
