Talat: Turkey Will Sign Customs Union Additional Protocol

LEFKOSA (AA) - President Mehmet Ali Talat of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said, ''Turkey will sign Customs Union additional protocol as soon as the EU completes its procedures.''
     Talat told reporters on Wednesday, ''Turkey has already stated that it will sign Customs Union additional protocol in coming days.''
     Talat said, ''Turkey made a commitment on December 17th, 2004 that it would sign the protocol. Then, it sent the letter of understanding. It is not necessary to discuss this issue. Turkey will sign the protocol. It expects the EU to complete its procedures.''
