ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday, ''the visit of U.S. congressmen to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was quite meaningful.''
Replying to questions of journalists, Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''I held talks with members of the U.S. delegation earlier in the day. We exchanged views on recent developments in the Middle East, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and the Cyprus issue. We also discussed the bilateral relations between Turkey and the United States.''
He stressed that the visit of U.S. congressmen to the TRNC was quite meaningful.
''I consider it a positive step toward the future. I will discuss the issue with U.S. President George W. Bush newt week,'' Erdogan added.
