Whitfield Meets Turkish Parliament Speaker Arinc And Turkey-u.S. Friendship Group

ANKARA (AA) - U.S. delegation headed by Ed Whitfield, the co-chairman of the Turkey Caucus at the U.S. House of Representatives, met Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc and members of Turkey-U.S. Interparliamentary Friendship Group on Tuesday.
     Prior to the meeting, Arinc said, ''I believe Turkey Caucus which is recently established in the United States will have successful activities.''
     Whitfield said that they are pleased to visit Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Turkey.
     Stressing that their visit to TRNC was an initiative to lift isolations over Turkish Cypriots, Whitfield said that concrete proposals were presented in their meetings, adding that they have made a clear call to Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos about the issue.
     Whitfield said that their activities about Cyprus issue will continue in the United States as well.
