Gul Proposes Barnier Entry Talks Should Start Immediately

MANAMA (AA) - During the EU Summit in Brussels on December 17th, Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul had proposed French Foreign Minister Michel Barnier that entry talks between Turkey and the EU should start immediately, sources said on Monday.
     Diplomatic sources quoted Gul as telling Barnier, ''the EU should open negotiations with Turkey immediately. Any delay causes problems.''
     Gul expressed his opinion to Barnier several times, diplomatic sources said and added that Barnier told Gul that they were aware of it, but they could do nothing.
