MERSIN (AA) - Turkish General Staff Chief Gen. Hilmi Ozkok has described the French referendum decision as ''a big problem'' but said the EU was strong enough to overcome it.
Replying to questions about the result of referendum in France on EU Constitution, Gen. Ozkok told reporters on Monday, ''the EU is a big organization. The decision of rejection is a big problem but the EU has the power to overcome these problems. In fact, it has to.''
In Sunday's referendum, 55 percent of French voters rejected the EU Constitution, plunging the EU into political difficulty and raising the possibility of delays in its further enlargement.
