ANKARA (AA) - Turkey and Mauritania signed today a commercial, economic and technical cooperation agreement.
According to Turkish Foreign Trade Undersecretariat, Undersecretary Tuncer Kayalar paid an official visit to Mauritania, within the framework of ''Strategy for Developing Economic Ties With Africa.''
While in Mauritania, Tuncer Kayalar met Mauritania's President Maaouya Ould Sid Ahmed Taya and many other high level executives.
Officials of Mauritania have indicated that Mauritania sees Turkey as a role model in economic, social and political arenas. ''We are ready to cooperate with Turkey to establish an industry based on natural resources, including oil, natural gas and iron,'' said an official from Mauritania.
The Turkish Foreign Trade Undersecretariat also remarked that a team of Turkish experts representing several institutions, such as Turkish Small & Mid-Scale Enterprises (KOBI), Turkish Eximbank and Turkish Cooperation & Development Agency (TIKA) will soon visit Mauritania to work on new bilateral projects.
