Boat Carrying Illegal Migrants Sinks Off Ayvacik

AYVACIK (AA) - A boat carrying illegal migrants sank off Ayvacik town of Aegean city of Canakkale on Sunday. Four Mauritanians were reported missing after the accident.
     The boat carrying nine Mauritanians who wanted to sneak into Greek island of Lesbos, capsized off Ayvacik's Kucukkuyu hamlet due to strong winds.
     Coast guard teams rescued the Turkish boat owner and five Mauritanians, while four Mauritanians were reported missing.
     The owner of the boat and five Mauritanians were detained after the accident.
