BEIRUT - Minister of Interior Hassan Sabaa announced the official results of the first phase of the Lebanese parliamentary elections held Sunday where all Saad Al-Hariri candidates for parliamentary elections were victorious.
Sabaa said in a press conference that no security breaches were reported which urged some individuals to doubt the country's neutral approach to the elections.
The government has held a just honest parliamentary election, Sabaa said.
Sabaa announced the winners of the three Lebanese constituencies in Beirut in the conference.
Saad Al-Hariri with 39.499 thousand votes, and Omar Al-Houri with 30.741 votes won the two Sunni seats in the first constituency including 10 candidates competing for six parliamentary seats.
Jubran Al-Tuwaini with 30.591 thousand votes won the Arman-Orthodox seat of the constituency.
Furthermore, Michael Firoun won the Catholic-Roman seat (by nomination), and Solanj Toutanji won the Maronite seat (by recommendation), and Al-Shab won the Evangelist seat (by nomination).
As for the second constituency, there were 17 candidates competing for six seats.
Ameen Shiri with 31.859 thousand votes won the Shiite seat.
Atif Majdallani won the Roman-Orthodox seat in the second constituency with 26.163 votes.
In addition, Nabeel Dofraij won the minorities' seat and Yivan Jirjiyan won the Roman-Orthodox seat (by nomination).
As for the third Beirut constituency with nine competing candidates for seven seats, Mohammad Qabani with 24.527 votes and Ghinwa Jalool with 23.731 votes won the Sunni seats.
Ghazi Yousif won the Shiite seat of the constituency (by nomination) and Ghazi Al-Areetha won the Druze seat (by nomination) in addition to Sirj Sarkisian for the Catholic-Roman seat (by nomination) and Jaun Oyghasyan and Aghoub Qasrijiyan won the Arman-Orthodox seats (by nomination).
The second phase of the parliamentary elections is scheduled for 5 June in the south of Lebanon followed by the 12 June in Al-Jabal and Biqaa area, and ending in the north 19 June.
