BRUSSELS - The European Commission authorized Wednesday urgent EU talks with Beijing over surging Chinese textile imports, a process which could lead to limits being imposed, officials said.
"The commission gave the green light to Mr (Peter) Mandelson, the (trade) commissioner, to ask for formal consultation with China for two categories of products, you will recall we are talking about T-shirts and flax yarn," spokeswoman Francoise Le Bail told a news conference.
