IZMIR (AA) - Ekrem Demirtas, the Executive Board President of Izmir Trade Chamber (IZTO) said on Monday that the trade volume between Turkey and Greece should be annually at least 5 billion dollars.
Greek Ambassador to Turkey Michael Christides visited IZTO Chairman Demirtas the same day.
Speaking in a news conference after the meeting, Demirtas said that ''we want Greece to bring visa exemption for daily trips from Turkey to Greece.''
Greek Ambassador Christides said in his part that the cultural and commercial ties between the two countries recently increased. He said he believed the trade volume between the two countries would reach 5 billion dollars in few years. Yet Christides stressed that Greece had to abide by Schengen Rules in visa applications.
''There is no return back from Turkish-Greek relations which are on the right track,'' added Christides.
