ISTANBUL - Deniz Baykal, Turkish Republican People's Party (CHP) leader and Vice-President of Socialist International, returned from Tel Aviv where he attended meetings of Socialist International Council.
Baykal told reporters that Socialist International meeting was held in two different regions, Israel and Palestine, for the first time.
Baykal noted that there was a broad participation to the meeting and this means supporting developments for peace in the Middle East.
Baykal said that they held bilateral meetings and discussed problems of Turkey during meetings.
