Kayalar: We May Reach 75 Billion U.S.D. In Export Amount By The End Of 2005

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish Foreign Trade Undersecretary Tuncer Kayalar said, ''if we preserve 20 percent increase in export, we will reach 75 billion USD in export amount by the end of 2005.''
     Speaking at the 5th International Istanbul Textile Conference on Friday, Kayalar said that increase in exports of textile and ready-to-wear clothing sectors will continue.
     Kayalar said, ''Turkey decided to impose quotas against China in 42 categories. The United States imposed limitations in 4 more categories recently. I hope the EU will take similar measures as well.''
     ''Turkey aims 75 billion USD of export by the end of 2005. According to figures of first 4.5 months, exports were increased by more than 20 percent. If we keep this pace, we can easily reach 75 billion USD,'' he noted.
     Meanwhile, Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM) Chairman Oguz Satici said that textile sector is in a serious change, adding that scientists and sector experts from 35 countries who attend this conference will contribute to this change in Turkey.
