Turkish Gendarmery Kill 2 Suicide Bombers In Erzincan

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish gendarmery killed two suicide bombers in eastern city of Erzincan, the Gendarmery Command said on Wednesday.
     Acting on a tip-off, a gendarmery team staged an operation against PKK/Kongra-Gel terrorists who took shelter in Gokbayir hamlet of Piskidag village in Uzumlu town of Erzincan.
     In the operation, gendarmery officers killed two armed terrorists who were wrapped in suicide-bomb belts and planning attacks.
     Turkish Land Forces Commander Gen. Yasar Buyukanit warned earlier this month that terrorist PKK/Kongra-Gel organization was planning attacks in rural or urban centers after a large number of rebels smuggled explosives into Turkey from northern Iraq.
