European Commission To Examine Onur Air File

BRUSSELS (AA) - A team of experts will gather to examine the file of Onur Air, the flights of which have been suspended by some European Union (EU) member states, the European Commission said on Tuesday.
     European Commissioner for transport Jacques Barrot's spokesman Stefaan De Rynck said that the date of the meeting had not been fixed yet.
     In this meeting, the countries which had banned Onur Air from landing at their airports would have the opportunity to explain why they did so, Rynck stated.
     Also, the Commission recalled that national authorities of member states were responsible for such decisions.
     EU sources said that a common stance on the Onur Air flights directed to Belgium and Denmark did not seem likely, and added that some member states checked the flights of this company but did not see any abnormality.
