High Tribunal Adjourns Hearing Of Yilmaz And Taner Until June 14th

ANKARA (AA) - The High Tribunal continued hearing cases of former Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz and former State Minister Gunes Taner on Tuesday.
     The court adjourned the hearing until June 14th to listen to testimonies of nine people including journalists and businessmen as witnesses.
     Yilmaz last served as deputy prime minister of the coalition government of the Democratic Left Party (DSP), Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and the Motherland Party (ANAP) which collapsed in the 2002 elections. Yilmaz has quitted politics since then.
     Yilmaz and Taner are accused of alleged irregularities and abusing powers by implementing wrong and illegal policies that caused the state to lose money.
     If convicted, the two may face up to 10 years in prison.
