Deputy Chief Of General Staff Gen. Basbug In Baku

BAKU (AA) - Deputy Chief of Staff of Turkish army Gen. Ilker Basbug has indicated that Turkey attached great importance to its relations with Azerbaijan.
     Basbug arrived in Haydar Aliyev Airport in Baku today (May 17th). Speaking to reporters, he stated that Turkey and Azerbaijan had comprehensive military relations.
     Basbug noted that Turkey's military support to Azerbaijan and Autonomous Republic of Nahchevan back to 1993, stating that Turkey extended support to those countries in training and construction and provided military equipment.
     General Basbug will meet Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev today.
