Parliamentary Turkish - Uzbek Friendship Group Head Ibis Calls For Common Sense

ANKARA - Turkish-Uzbek Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairman Ali Ibis has called on the Uzbek security forces to act with common sense.
     Issuing a written statement on Tuesday, Ibis said that the Turkish parliament was concerned about the recent developments in Uzbekistan. ''Turkey feels deep grief over the recent killing of many Uzbek citizens and security forces during the incidents in Andijan,'' he said.
     Ibis said that Turkey attributed great importance to stability and peace in Uzbekistan, adding that ''we wish that the tension in Uzbekistan would end as soon as possible. We also think that Uzbek security forces' acting in common sense and their moderate and calm attitude towards protestors and civilians will prevent more bloodshed.''
     Ibis indicated that the Turkish parliament was ready to assist Uzbekistan in all ways, adding that Turkish citizens living in Uzbekistan didn't have any problem.
