ANKARA (AA) - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen will leave for Finland on Wednesday on an official visit between May 19th and 20th.
Turkish Foreign Trade Undersecretariat stated on Tuesday that Tuzmen and an accompanying delegation will hold talks on ways of increasing Turkey's market share in Finland during their stay in this country.
Parties will aim to create new export opportunities and assess cooperation facilities during their talks. Businessmen from 27 Turkish companies operating in telecommunications, chemistry, plastics, iron-steel, metal, textile, ready-to-wear clothing, home textiles, food, ceramics, logistics, construction materials and electronic equipment sectors will accompany Tuzmen.
A seminar on Turkey-Finland commercial and economic cooperation as well as bilateral talks between Turkish and Finnish companies will be held during Tuzmen's visit.
Tuzmen will be received by Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen. Tuzmen will also have meetings with Finnish Foreign Trade & Development Minister Paula Lehtomaki and Finnish Trade & Industry Minister Mauri Pekkarinen on commercial and economic relations between Turkey and Finland.
Foreign Trade Undersecretariat stated, ''legal infrastructure of commercial and economic relations between the two countries has been completed. Basic aim of this visit is to further develop bilateral trade and increase investment relations with EU member Finland.''
Commercial relations between Turkey and Finland have gained momentum after 2002. Trade volume between the two countries increased by 39 percent and reached 964 million USD in 2005.
