WARSAW - A Turkish consortium is to build a 300-million-dollar (200-million-euro) wholesale trade, logistics and conference centre near the Polish capital, Warsaw, a spokeswoman for the group said Wednesday.
"We will invest 300 million dollars over six years in the development," dubbed the Euro Power Centre, said Agnieszka Ostojska, spokeswoman for the consortium, which comprises Nurol International and Mesa Mesken Sanayi.
The first phase of the development, the wholesale trade centre, was formally opened Tuesday in the presence of Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and his Polish counterpart Marek Belka.
The wholesale centre covers 25,000 square meters (269,000 square feet) and can accommodate 700 wholesalers. It cost 70 million dollars to build.
The next phase of the development will see the construction of a logistics centre, exhibition and conference halls, offices and a hotel on the 110-hectare (272-acre) site at Nadarzyn, east of Warsaw.
