BAGHDAD - A senior Iraqi anti-corruption official was gunned down Tuesday in southern Baghdad, an interior ministry source said.
Three unknown gunmen opened fire at 10:00 am (0600 GMT) on the vehicle of Alaaeddin Wazir al-Obeidi, a high-ranking official with Iraq's Commission on Public Integrity (CPI).
He died on the spot but his driver escaped unharmed from the ambush in the restive neighbourhood of Dura, the source said.
