Seven dead in fresh anti-US protests in Afghanistan

KABUL - At least seven people were killed during fresh anti-US protests Friday across Afghanistan, bringing the toll from four days of unrest to 14, officials and doctors said.
One person died in the southeastern city of Gardez after security forces clashed with demonstrators against the alleged abuse of the Koran at the US detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, provincial security chief Ghulan Nabi Saleh told AFP.
Three died when Afghan troops opened fire in southeastern Ghazni province, while another three were killed during protests near Faizabad, capital of northeastern Badakshan province, officials and doctors said.
