BUDAPEST - Commenting the decision of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) related to terrorist Abdullah Ocalan's case, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that this decision was just related to the procedure and not to the essence of the case.
Speaking to reporters on today's decision of ECHR, Erdogan said: ''Ocalan was condemned by the Turkish public opinion. This file is closed as far as Turkish public opinion is concerned.
As the Turkish government and nation, our position regarding terrorists and terrorism is clear. If the world opinion wants to reconsider this case, we can only say that 'justice is independent in Turkey, and the Turkish Republic is a state of law'''.
He added, ''Casual problems cannot change our EU goal and destroy our national unity. Moreover, this matter will be discussed by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. But, the final decision will be made by Turkish jurisdiction.''
