Cicek: You Have The Chance Of Enacting An Exemplary Penal Code

VIENNA (AA) - Organization for Security & Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Representative for the Freedom of the Media Miklos Haraszti sent on Wednesday a letter to Turkish Justice Minister Cemil Cicek saying that Turkey could have an exemplary penal code by making new arrangements in the Turkish Penal Code (TCK).
     Listing all his concerns and criticisms about articles of the new TCK on press freedom, Haraszti said in his letter that postponement of implementation of the new TCK was a principled and appropriate decision.
     Haraszti expressed his hope that all restrictions in front of the press freedom would be lifted.
