Treasury Cash Balance Shows 3.4 Billion Liras Of Deficit Last Month

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Treasury's cash balance showed a deficit of 3.4 billion New Turkish liras (YTL) (nearly 2.48 billion USD) in April of 2005. Primary budget surplus in April was 803 million YTL.
     Between January-April 2005, cash deficit reached an amount of 9.3 billion YTL. During the same period, primary budget surplus was 6.9 billion YTL.
     According to the Undersecretariat of the Treasury, 8.5 billion YTL was received as income on cash basis in April. In April, expenses, aside from interests, were worth 7.7 billion YTL.
     The Treasury paid 4.2 billion YTL in interests in April.
     Between January-April 2005, total Treasury income was 36 billion YTL and expenses were worth 29.1 billion YTL.
     The Treasury paid 16.2 billion YTL in interests during the first four months of 2005.
