LEFKOSA (AA) - ''Greek Cypriot government, which issues warrant of arrestment for Turkish Cypriots as they are living in Greek Cypriot houses, will have to arrest Greek Cypriots who are living in houses of Turkish Cypriots, too,'' said Foreign Minister Serdar Denktas of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Speaking to Turkish Cypriot Bayrak television on Tuesday, Denktas said, ''we have started studies on legal area 3 weeks ago to learn what we can do against property cases of Greek Cypriots. Greek Cypriot side will suffer very much in this legal struggle. Greek Cypriot government will have to arrest Greek Cypriots who are living in houses of Turkish Cypriots in the future. They sometimes forget their EU membership. They have become an EU member, but not European.''
Warning Turkish Cypriots not to receive summons sent by Greek Cypriots, Denktas said, ''cases of Greek Cypriots will continue especially against investors and businessmen. They will understand their mistake when situation will change.''
''There is no new development in Cyprus issue. There is no reason for Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos to change his policy. Papadopoulos does not have the intent to share anything with Turkish Cypriots under any condition,'' said Denktas.
He noted, ''Papadopoulos sent a representative to New York for a meeting with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, but this does not change anything. Annan has earlier asked the reservations, complaints and demands of Greek Cypriot side on Annan Plan. Turkish Cypriot side is getting prepared to convey its reservations and complaints to Annan as well.''
