BERLIN - German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder will hold talks with US President George W. Bush during a visit to Washington on June 27-28, German magazine Stern has reported.
But a German government spokesman said he was unable to confirm the report, which appears in the magazine's issue to go on sale on Thursday.
Stern said the aim of the visit was to further improve ties between the two countries that were strained over Germany's opposition to the US-led Iraq war.
Schroeder has not visited the White House since February 2004, but the two leaders held discussions in February this year when Bush came to the German city of Mainz during a European tour.
