BUCHAREST (AA) - South Eastern Europe countries discuss the solution of regional problems and methods of improving cooperation in their meeting in Bucharest.
Turkish FM & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul participate in the meeting of South East European Cooperation Process.
Diplomatic sources said that the countries essentially discuss methods of developing new cooperation areas in the region (particularly in energy and environmental fields), finding a solution to Kosovo problem and integration of South Eastern Europe countries with the Euro-Atlantic institutions.
At the meeting, the delegates expressed the need to work more on issues like free movement of goods and services and visa proceedings; and they also stressed the importance of working on common projects.
Meanwhile Gul separately met with foreign minister of Serbia & Montenegro Vuk Draskovic and Albanian Foreign Minister Kastriot Islami. At the meetings, Draskovic and Islami asked Gul for support for their countries' NATO membership. Regarding Kosovo, Gul said Turkey is for the solution of the problem through dialogue.
Upon a question of an Albanian journalist, Gul said that the friendship between Turkey and Albania would contribute to prosperity in the Balkans. Islami said in his part that the bilateral relations were excellent and Turkey sincerely supported Albania's membership to NATO.
