LEFKOSA (AA) - TRNC Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer said on Sunday that if Cyprus was common motherland, then Turkish Cypriot nation was equal side of that motherland.
''A solution in Cyprus should be based on Turkish Cypriot political unity and partnership,'' said Soyer.
Making a peace call to Greek Cypriot administration and people, Soyer said that ''Turkish Cypriot nation wants to build a future with Greek Cypriots on the basis of political equality and partnership.''
Soyer addressed the TRNC parliament after his government won vote of confidence. Noting that the government would take into consideration the criticisms and they would be in dialogue with all sections of the society, Soyer said that they would also be in cooperation with TRNC President Mehmet Ali Talat and Turkey in Cyprus solution process.
Referring to the remarks of Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos, Soyer said that ''Papadopolos told a foreign delegation that 'can 82 percent of a population be equal with that of 18 percent?'' Such a discourse was against the EU principles and democratic values, said Soyer.
