ANKARA (AA) - ''Turkey has a big potential in the Central Asia, thanks to its historical and cultural ties. If Turkey realizes this potential, it will become a big power,'' Haruhiko Kuroda, the Chairman of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), said on Sunday.
Kuroda, who attended the 38th Annual Meeting of Board of Governors of ADB in Turkish commercial of Istanbul, told A.A correspondent that the Central Asia was rich of energy resources, and said that Turkey could play an important role in transportation of these resources to the West.
Underlining the importance of Turkey, an influential country in its region, for Asia, Kuroda said, ''as the EU (European Union), Asia needs a strong Turkey.''
