Southeast European Countries Cooperation Summit To Be Held In Bucharest

ANKARA (AA) - Southeast European Countries Cooperation Process foreign ministers' meeting will be held on May 10th and summit of heads of state and government will take place on May 11th, both in Bucharest, Romania.
     Turkish Foreign Ministry told a statement on Friday that Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul will represent Turkey in the meetings.
     Representatives from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, Romania, Croatia and Moldova (as observer) will attend the summit in which Greece will take over the term presidency from Romania.
     ''Southeast European countries will particularly discuss the latest situation in the Balkans and Kosovo and they will also discuss issues of enhancement of infrastructure in the region, environmental cooperation and coordination with other cooperation mechanisms in the Balkans,'' the ministry said.
     The Southeast European Cooperation Process is the sole Balkan cooperation platform formed by the regional countries upon their initiative and Turkey played a leading role in its formation and development, the ministry added in its statement.
