ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc will travel to Australia on Friday on an official visit, it was reported on Thursday.
Arinc will go to Australia between May 6th and 15th upon the invitation of Australian Representatives' Assembly Chairman David Hawker and Senate President Paul Calvert.
Following his meetings in Victoria State Parliament, Arinc will receive Melbourne Mayor John So and later proceed to Canberra on May 11th. After holding a joint meeting with Hawker and Calvert, Arinc will attend a dinner which will be hosted in his honor.
Arinc will meet Australian Prime Minister John Howard on May 12th and later receive Australia-Turkey Friendship Group Chairman Senator Sandy Macdonald and an accompanying delegation.
Arinc will receive Australian Minister for Immigration, Multicultural & Indigenous Affairs Amanda Vanstone and Minister for Foreign Affairs Alexander Downer.
Arinc will proceed to Sydney on May 13th to meet New South Wales State Legislative Council Chairperson Meredith Burgmann and commissions chairman John Mills.
Parliament Speaker Arinc will also visit Auburn Gallipoli Mosque and meet the administrators of Australian newspapers and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Arinc and the accompanying delegation will depart from Australia on May 14th to return to Turkey.
