Yousef: Turkey And Arab Countries Should Consider Future Of The Region

ISTANBUL (AA) - ''Turkey and Arab countries should consider the future of their region,'' said Arab League Secretary General's personal Representative Hicham Yousef.
     Taking the floor at Turkish-Arab Economy Forum on Thursday, Yousef proposed to establish a Turkish-Arabian Trade Chamber and a Turkish-Arabian Research & Development Center, to develop relations.
     ''Arab world closely follows developments in Turkey,'' he added.
     Faysal Abou Zaki, director of Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group which held the forum in cooperation with Arab League, said that relations between Turkey and Arab countries have entered a new stage, adding that both parties are willing to develop relations.
     Noting that Turkey's accession to the EU is very important, Zaki said that this perspective makes Turkey a door for Arab countries to open on the EU.
     Zaki also suggested Turkey and Arab countries to establish a regional free trade zone.
