Turkey Condemns Attacks In Iraq

ANKARA (AA) - The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has condemned recent acts of terror in Iraq killing more than 200 civilians.
     Releasing a statement, the MFA said on Wednesday, ``Turkey condemns such heinous attacks aiming to hinder efforts to provide stability in Iraq.``
     The MFA called on all Iraqi political parties, groups and leaders to act with common-sense and understanding of responsibility, participate in the political process in an influential way and bring the spirit of unity, dialogue and compromise to the forefront.
     MFA offered its condolences to those who lost their beloved ones in the attacks.
     It added that the Turkish government was ready to help Iraq transfer those who were seriously injured in the attacks to Turkey for medical treatment.
     Insurgents have stepped up attacks since Iraq`s first democratically elected government was announced last week, with car bombs and other attacks killing about 200 people and injuring hundreds of others.
