Unakitan On Property Sales To Foreigners

ANKARA (AA) - ``We have started initiatives to rearrange real estate sales to foreigners. Foreigners will continue to own properties,`` said Turkish Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan.
     Dutch Deputy Prime Minister & Finance Minister Gerrit Zalm met Unakitan in Ankara on Wednesday.
     Prior to the meeting, Unakitan told reporters, ``we have implemented many changes in public finances. We have adopted Public Finance Management Control Law within that scope.`` ``This arrangement is an EU Adjustment Law. EU supports our activities in this issue,`` he added.
     Unakitan noted, ``Turkey will prepare a 3-year budget for the first time this year. This will increase the reliability towards Turkey. Thus, an important progress will be recorded in public finance in Turkey.``
     Unakitan also informed Dutch Minister Zalm about property sales to foreigners prior to the meeting. He said that especially German and Dutch citizens own many properties in Turkey.
