ANKARA (AA) - ``Significant recoveries happened in political and economic areas thanks to reforms which have been implemented in Turkey since 2001. Turkey is on right track,`` said World Bank Turkey Director Andrew Vorkink on Wednesday.
Vorkink took the floor at a conference on ``public finance management in Turkey and the Netherlands`` which was held jointly by finance ministries of Turkey and the Netherlands in Ankara.
``Turkey experienced a big financial crisis in 2001. Since that date, important reforms have been made and this process still continues in Turkey. Thanks to these reforms, financial management of Turkey has become appropriate with the financial management of many developed countries,`` he said.
Vorkink said, ``when reforms are implemented rapidly, several problems may emerge. Strategical approach and how to arrange them are the key matters of reforms. With this respect, it is important to make reforms in coordination with public sector and public finance management.``
Vorkink added that World Bank will continue providing necessary support to Turkey.
