ANKARA (AA) - The 8th Flying Broom International Women`s Film Festival will be held from May 5th to 15th.
The theme of this year`s festival is ``Love``.
A total of 93 films from 21 countries will be shown during the festival.
Sevda Ferdag, a prominent Turkish actress, will be presented with the ``Flying Broom Honorary Award`` at the festival.
Russia will be the guest of the ``One Country`` part of the festival. ``Babusya`` by Lidiya Bobrova, ``Harvest Time`` by Marina Razbezhkina and ``Shizo`` by Marina Razbezhkina will be shown.
Worldwide famous female director Agnieszka Holland`s films ``Europa Europa``, ``Olivier, Olivier``, ``Total Eclipse`` and ``Julie Walking Home`` will also be shown.
Indian director Deepa Mehta will also be the guest of this year`s festival with her films.
Viewers will have the chance of watching films of Greta Garbo, one of the remarkable female performances in the history of cinema: ``Anna Karenina``, ``Grand Hotel`` and ``Ninotchka``.
Semiha Berksoy, the first lady of Turkish opera as well as one of the most colorful figures in contemporary Turkish art who died of pulmonary embolism at the age of 94 last year, will be commemorated in the festival with her film ``The Serpent`s Tale``.
For the first time in the festival, a special part will take place for male directors: ``Men in Love``.
