CANTON, Mississippi - US President George W. Bush plans to nominate Robert Kimmitt, a former US ambassador to Germany, to be deputy US treasury secretary, the White House announced in a statement Tuesday.
Kimmitt is currently chairman of the international advisory council for Time Warner Incorporated, and also serves as senior international counsel at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, according to the statement.
Previously, Kimmitt has served as managing director of Lehman Brothers; US ambassador to Germany; undersecretary of state for political affairs; and general counsel of the US Treasury Department.
His nomination requires US Senate approval.
