ISTANBUL - Dupont grew by 70 percent in Turkey in 2004, has said Jean-Luc Duramy, Director of Dupont Turkey, Middle East, and North Africa.
Holding a news conference on Monday, Duramy said, ''construction sector is important for Dupont which functions in food, packaging and automotive sectors.''
''Turkey is a very important country for us. We grew by 70 percent in Turkey in 2004. Our sales in construction sector in the last 3 years in Turkey increased by 35 percent,'' he noted.
Duramy said, ''we have 281 employees in Turkey. Amount of sales in Turkey in 2004 was 163.3 million USD. Macro-economic development in Turkey is promising.''
''There are big opportunities in Gulf countries and Russia in construction area, and these opportunities are valid for Turkey as well,'' he added.
Duramy noted that his area of responsibility included 19 countries. ''Turkey is the most important one among these countries. 50 percent of our sales is made in Turkey. We should focus more on this country.''
''Our annual growth target for the next 5 years in Turkey is 20 percent,'' he noted.
