Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan pointed out that Turkey is always a guarantor of peace in the region and said: "It will continue its duty to assure peace afterwards."
Prime Minister Erdogan met with Israeli President Moshe Katsav in the Presidential Palace.
President Katsav welcomed Prime Minister Erdogan and the Turkish delegation with his wife Gila Katsav. During the reception Katsav and Erdogan posed for the press with their wives. Later, President Katsav and Erdogan had a one on one meeting, which took half an hour. After the meeting, Prime Minister Erdogan signed the guest book of the Israeli Presidency.
Erdogan and Katsav held a joint press meeting and made statements.
President Katsav revealed that they had dealt with the issues of Palestine, Israel and regional and global subjects in the meeting and said: " We once more pointed out our belief in religious values, the sacredness of life, and democratic values."
