A tourist was killed Saturday in a bomb blast that rocked central Cairo near the city`s main museum, security sources said.

Officials said the explosion took place near the back gate of the Cairo Museum on Abdul Munem Riyadh Square.

Several people were injured, the BBC reported, but it was not immediately determined whether the explosion was caused by a suicide bomber or a booby-trapped car.

It was the second explosion in less than a month in Cairo. A similar attack April 7 in downtown Cairo killed three tourists and the suicide bomber.
