Iraqi F.M. Zebari: We Expect More Help From Our Neighbors

ISTANBUL - Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said that they expect more help from neighboring countries.
Following the first session of the 8th Iraq's Neighboring Countries meeting which was held in Istanbul on Saturday, Zebari said that the aim of the meeting is to support new government of Iraq politically. He added that the situation in Iraq is not static and in spite of all terrorist attacks and difficulties, there is a momentum in the country.
''We expect more help from our neighbors. We want further contribution especially to border security, intelligence organizations and prevention of terrorism,'' he said.
Zebari noted, ''we consider positive the assistance of the UN for preparation process of constitution in Iraq. We will cooperate with UN within that process.'' He added, ''Saddam Hussein will be tried very justly.''
In closed session of the meeting, Zebari said that Iraqi government was established according to results of elections, not to ethnical or political quota. Noting that the role of neighbors is important for unity of Iraq, Zebari said that however, the real element is Iraqi people in this issue. He added that Iraq takes sensitivities of Turkey into consideration.
On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi said in the meeting that new Iraqi government should be supported in international area. He added that a strong support to new Iraqi government emerged from the meeting.
