JERUSALEM - Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Israel on Sunday.
During his visit to Jerusalem, Erdogan will firstly meet Israeli President Moshe Katzav. Following his visit to Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, Erdogan will meet Israeli deputy premiers Shimon Peres and Ehud Olmert. Erdogan will also meet Israeli Premier Ariel Sharon and Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom the same day.
Erdogan will proceed to West Bank on May 2nd and visit Mausoleum of former Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. He will then meet President of Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas.
Erdogan will address Palestinian and Turkish businessmen at Culture Palace together with Palestinian Premier Ahmed Qurei. Erdogan will then open Ramallah office of Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TICA).
Turkish National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul, Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler, Industry & Trade Minister Ali Coskun, Agriculture & Rural Affairs Minister Sami Guclu, parliamentarians of Turkish-Israeli and Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Groups and several bureaucrats will accompany Erdogan during his tour to Israel and Palestine.
Nearly 100 Turkish businessmen will also visit Israel and Palestine and they will hold meetings with businessmen in Jerusalem and Ramallah.
Turkish Industry Minister Coskun and Agriculture Minister Guclu will hold a meeting with Israeli deputy Premier Olmert and Israeli Minister of Infrastructure Binyamin Ben-Eliezer. Coskun and Olmert will sign an agreement on cooperation on research and development between two countries.
Erdogan and accompanying officials will depart from Israel on Monday.
