ANTALYA - Mediterranean 4th Special Olympiads, attended by disabled youth, started on Friday in Akdeniz University Physical Education & Sports University.
Three mentally disabled children unfurled Turkish Flag and a poster of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of Modern Turkish Republic, during the ceremony.
Antalya Governor Alaadin Yuksel, who made a keynote speech after the parade, said disabled people should be in harmony with the society.
During the Olympiads there will be competitions on 50-100 meters race, swimming, gymnastics, football, tennis, volleyball and basketball.
216 children attend the competitions.
