ISTANBUL - International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Rodrigo De Rato said on Friday that Turkey was one of the countries where IMF had been very successful.
Rato who came to Istanbul for Investment Advisory Council meeting, told A.A that the economic performance of Turkey was very impressive and he believed it would continue.
Underlining the fact that the economic programme implemented by the Turkish government was important for the future of the Turkish people, Rato said that the government was also successful in implementing the programme. Rato added that IMF would continue to support Turkey`s economic programme.
Meanwhile, State Minister Ali Babacan hosted a breakfast meeting for the members of the Investment Advisory Council. At the meeting, Babacan gave information about the recent developments in Turkish economy and measures taken to improve the investment environment.
