BAGHDAD - Three US soldiers were killed and two others wounded in two separate car bomb attacks on Friday, the military said.
Two US soldiers were killed when a car bomb went off near Diyarah, in the deadly Anbar province west of Baghdad, a statement said.
Another US soldier was killed in a separate bombing around 12:30 pm (0830 GMT) on Friday near Taji, about 30 kilometers (20 miles) north of Baghdad.
Two other soldiers wounded in the same attack were taken to a hospital at a nearby US base.
The military gave no further details.
The deaths brought to 1,568 the number of US soldiers who have died in Iraq since the 2003 invasion, according to an AFP tally based on Pentagon figures.
